The great thing about the IP Visuals system is that it doesn't demand a huge amount of equipment or processing power. The chances are your existing desktop or laptop computer will be fine. If you want to check the details before you get started, here's what we recommend.
PC

For PC users we recommend:
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP or Vista
- Processor (CPU): 2 GHz Intel Dual Core
- Memory (RAM): 1 GB (2 GB if running Windows Vista)
- Hard disk: 10 MB free (40MB recommended)
- Web Browser: Internet Explorer 7 (preferred on Vista) or Firefox 3.5.
Macs

For Mac users we recommend:
- Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or higher
- Processor (CPU): 2 GHz Intel Dual Core
- Memory (RAM): 2 GB
- Hard disk: 30 MB free
- Web Browser: Safari or Firefox 3.5

Camera & Microphone
A good USB camera, like the Logitech QuickCam Pro9000 (QuickCam VisionPro for the Mac), works well for individuals or groups of up to 6-8 people. We suggest you also use a headset or an echo cancelling speaker phone (like the Polycom C100 for PCs or the ClearOne Chat 50 for Macs). Larger rooms with more local participants may require a more complex camera & audio system. Contact IP Visuals for help with your hardware set-up.
Firewalls
The IP Visuals system uses ports that may be constrained by your company's Internet firewall. Our Administrator's Guide contains all the technical stuff on firewall traversal. Contact us for a copy.
